The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) will stage events during TFWA Asia Pacific in Singapore next month that will add value for members of the Association and other delegates. On Sunday 12th May at 12.30 pm, prior to the start of the regional summit, APTRA will host its third APTRA Airport Forum, exclusively for airport operators. This informal interactive event,
kindly hosted by Changi Airport Group and sponsored by DFS, will include presentations by Stephane Geffroy of Kansai Airports and Teo Chew Hoon of Changi Airport Group.

Stephen Hillam of NPD will present key findings from APTRA’s ‘Understanding Young China’ report, a comprehensive analysis of the consumption preferences and shopping behaviour of 18 to 30-year-old Chinese travellers. The Forum will be followed by a management-led tour of The Jewel Experience at Changi Airport.

APTRA President Andrew Ford will address the morning plenary of the TFWA Asia Pacific Conference on Monday 13th May. He will summarise the ways in which the Association is supporting the duty free & travel retail industry in the Asia Pacific, including research, training and advocacy, and update delegates on the latest initiatives.

Recent research of specific relevance to the duty free & travel retail industry will be the focus of the APTRA Insights Seminar, co-hosted by KPMG, on Wednesday 15th May from 7.10 am to 9 am in the Begonia Ballroom (room 3111) at Marina Bay Sands Exhibition Centre. Stephen Hillam of NPD will present a summary of the ‘Young China’ report and Anson Bailey of KPMG will tackle the latest retail technology in a presentation entitled ‘Data & Innovation’ followed by a Q & A session and time for networking.

APTRA members are invited to attend their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 15th at 4.30 pm in the Begonia Ballroom, which will include the election of members of the Board. APTRA members interested in applying for a seat on the Board are invited to contact APTRA’s administrative officer Sharolyn Paul [email protected] before 30th April. The incoming Board will elect a new President, Secretary and Treasurer.
