EU SingaporeThe European Union has added the Republic of Singapore to the third countries recognised as applying security standards equivalent to the common basic standards on civil aviation security.

The new Implementing Regulation enabling “One Stop Security” with Singapore Changi Airport is applicable from 6 February 2018, meaning passengers, baggage and/or cargo arriving into the EU from Singapore Changi Airport will not need to be subjected again to security controls when transferring at EU airports. According to the Straits Times, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is the first to implement the new regulation; other airports, such as London and Frankfurt plan to adapt their security screening procedures progressively.
