APTRA President’s Year-End Message

Dear APTRA members,

2018 has been a productive and optimistic year for APTRA. The travel retail industry maintains to grow at an average of 8.1% year on year, hence we are excited to welcome more new members ranging from Airports, to Retailers and Brands alike.

We have seen success in a number of research projects as well as further development in our responsible retail training program.

2019 brings an exciting new project. APTRA collaborates alongside DFWC to develop an Economic Impact Study for our region. We believe this will truly deliver greater understanding in the value that is derived from our industry, helping all members in various capacities.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the board of APTRA in 2018, and I want to take this opportunity to thank them all for their immense contribution during the year. Hume Brophy continues to be a strategic partner in assisting our advocacy mission, and has helped APTRA transition very smoothly during the year of new leadership. Lastly, I would like to welcome our new Executive Director, Christina Oliver, to the Association and wish her all the best in her new role.

APTRA plays a critical role in nurturing and protecting the duty free and travel retail industry in the Asia Pacific region, helping all of our trusted members in preparing for tomorrow, we thank each and every member for being part of our journey.

APTRA APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Christina Oliver as Executive Director.

Ms. Oliver, who takes up the role on 17th December, will report to the President of APTRA and its Board.  Based in Singapore she will execute the strategic plan agreed by the Board and manage the day-to-day activities of the Association, including research, training, advocacy and communications, assisted by Sharolyn Paul, Administrative Officer.
